Batzai was founded on the belief that data and digitalization can deeply enhance supply chain efficiencies in informal, fragmented markets to benefit all stakeholders, especially the most vulnerable.
Founder, Marta, with 14 years in the African FMCG sector, identified the challenges faced by the small vendors, who make up 80% of last-mile distribution in sub-Saharan Africa.

Marta, with deep experience in Africa’s FMCG sector, identified major supply chain inefficiencies impacting small vendors, but also the other stakeholders in the chain: distributors, manufacturers and brands.
Through her Master’s research, she developed a digital, data-driven solution that can benefit all stakeholders.
She partnered with Dario, an expert in software development and AI, to create a technology-focused platform tailored to African markets.
Her Master’s thesis proposed a digital concept to connect these stakeholders for mutual benefit. Marta and co-founder Dario are dedicated to promoting financial and digital inclusion.
